11 Icelandic Design Highlights From DesignMarch 2017

During four days, from March 23 to 26, the city of Reykjavík organized over 100 events related to design, architecture, fashion, and jewelry, showcasing the best of the local creative scene alongside international talents. Organized for the ninth time this year by Iceland Design Centre, DesignMarch is Iceland’s most important annual design festival.

Among this year’s main exhibitions, events, and happenings, the “Roundabout Baltic Plus Iceland” show presented the work of 50 designers from eight countries with shorelines along the Baltic Sea alongside creative minds from Iceland. Local creative studio And Anti Matter unveiled its first product line, new independent publisher Reykjavík Print launched its collection of limited-edition prints, and Icelandic designer Gudmundur Ludvik gave unprecedented access to his creative process. It is clear that the world’s most northerly capital has a vibrant design energy. View the slideshow for some of our favorite discoveries.
