Italian Craft Explored in New Rugs by Patterson Flynn Martin

Modesto by Patterson Flynn Martin.

Old World expertise meets contemporary tastes in the latest custom rugs from Patterson Flynn Martin. Named after the Italian word for crafts, the Artigianale series borrows the stylistic traditions of Italy and is in fact produced there. As vice president Stephen Puschel notes, the rugs are handwoven using time-honored techniques to transform yarn into relief detail and geometric sequences.

Jagged Astratto by Patterson Flynn Martin.

Wool and cotton mingle in Modesto’s crisp stripes, Mediterraneo’s school of abstract fish, and Kara’s updated take on vine imagery. The jagged Astratto blends wool and cotton with silk, as do versions of Cactus, notable for its simulated strings and snags.
