With collaboration comes innovation. And when two iconic manufacturers join forces, design excellence is sure to ensue. Luxury kitchen manufacturer Arclinea’s recent partnership with B&B Italia connects two iconic design companies that embody the finest of Italian craftsmanship.
The collaboration will strengthen the positioning of both brands in residential and contract markets. “Arclinea has a strong reputation for exceptionally innovative and qualitative kitchen designs, and we see a perfect complementarity with B&B Italia’s current product offering,” says Andrea C. Bonomi, managing principal of Investindustrial (the parent company of B&B Italia).
Antonio Citterio is a connective thread that unites the two companies. He has collaborated with Arclinea for over 25 years and has created countless top-selling products for B&B Italia. Citterio’s namesake firm designed Arclinea’s New York City showroom in 2014. This flagship showcases a selection of high-end Italian kitchens along with living and dining vignettes. “From a space for socializing to a professional-caliber island, each different kitchen interpretation blends perfectly with its surroundings,” Citterio says.
Arclinea's New York flagship is a resource for designers in and beyond the Tri-State area with a turnkey approach: offering creative design services, guidance with appliance selection, and installation assistance. At Salone del Mobile 2016, Arclinea revealed two Citterio-designed kitchens that are slated to become contemporary classics. The Principia model teams grained wood with stainless steel for a sleek design that integrates dedicated storage units and work zones. The Steelia design, available in black, bronze (pictured above), and champagne steel finishes, pairs innovative technologies with hand-crafted details.
“My approach to kitchens has always been to work on a vision of how the kitchen should be from emotional and practical points of view,” Citterio says. “A kitchen must consider a whole series of linked factors, starting with how we use it, how we move inside it, and how we relate to it.”
