Morocco's Decorative Traditions Inspires Concrete Scallop Tile by Concrete Collaborative

After leaving Australia to resettle in Southern California, sisters Kate Balsis, Sally Smithwick, and Hailey Weller take a global view, one that’s evident in the tile and surfacing they manufacture, in small batches, at Concrete Collaborative. The decorative traditions of Morocco inspired Scallop. However, as Balsis clarifies, “Our interpretation is less rustic, more architecturally driven, for a cleaner aesthetic.” The design is produced in concrete, of course, in 15 standard colors. Width is 6 inches, while thickness varies for floors, walls, and architectural details.
