In an upcoming exhibition and conference, the Harvard Graduate School of Design will explore how the blurring of geo-political boundaries throughout Europe is currently informing landscape practices on the continent. Private gardens, city parks, highway rest areas, and reclaimed industrial wastelands are among the designs presented in Territories: Contemporary European Landscape Design, on view from April 19th through May 24th. "As the Old World reconfigures into a new, unified European Union, landscape designers are bridging borders and introducing new styles and techniques, challenging traditional approaches to landscape architecture," says Joseph Disponzio, assistant professor and curator. The exhibition brings together plans, photos, models, and drawings of built projects by contemporary European designers.
