Mannington Commerical Launches Greenbuild Forums and Webcasts

The live webcasts will be led by Mannington's Natalie Jones and Dave Kitts, as well as three Mannington Greenbuild contest winners.

Taking to heart former Speaker of the House Tip O’Neill’s famous axiom that "All Politics is Local," flooring manufacturer Mannington Commercial is bringing the Greenbuild Expo to communities across the country.

Today, the company launched "Bring Greenbuild Local," a new initiative that includes hosting local events in Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles, and Washington, D.C. with live webcasts centered around the annual green conference taking place in Phoenix from November 11-13.

"Many designers and architects are telling us that they will not be able to attend, so we have looked for other ways to let them share in the experience," says Natalie Jones, Mannington’s vice president of commercial brand development and creative product. "We always find Greenbuild to be inspiring, so we are delighted to be bringing designers to the Expo, and bring the Expo to designers."

The live webcasts will be led by Jones and Dave Kitts, Mannington’s vice president for environment and the three winners of a Mannington contest in which designers shared their best reasons for going to Greenbuild. The webcasts will include video coverage of the expo that will be compiled and posted on Mannington’s tx:style design community website after the show. The tx:style site will also be hosting its second annual design challenge, beginning November 30, that will allow designers to submit carpet designs for a chance to have their idea become a full line of commercial carpet.

The local events in Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles and Washington, D.C. will include a CEU course on LEED 2009, led by Kitts, that is certified by AIA, ASID, and IIDA.
