Calling All Faces for Humanscale's Charity Auction

The live auction and design competition is set for September 16 at Humanscale's New York showroom.

If you're an artist or designer of original animal-inspired artwork, it's time to heed the call of the wild. Ergonomic office furniture manufacturer Humanscale is now accepting a total of 75 entries for its ninth annual Faces in the Wild charity auction.

Rules for submissions for the event, to be held at Humanscale's New York showroom on September 16, are simple: donate original art in any physical medium—including printed or painted matter, photography, and sculpture—that depicts the face of any non-domesticated animal. All entries must also be easily transportable, display-ready, and, natch, made from environmentally friendly, non-perishable materials.

But while proceeds from the online and live auctions go to the World Wildlife Fund, three of the 75 participants will also share in the philanthropy. A panel of artists and designers will select a trio of winning artists, who will each receive $1,500 credits to redeem on Humanscale's e-commerce website.

Spearheaded by Humanscale founder and CEO Robert King, who has served on the WWF's National Council since 1999, Faces in the Wild has raised more than $350,000 for the WWF since 2000. Last year alone, the event generated a record total of $150,000 for wildlife conservation.
