With a million dollar view of the Windy City, the ninth annual Antron Carpet Fiber Product Innovation Awards kicked off Sunday evening high atop Chicago’s Symphony Center to recognize the latest in carpeting style, color, originality, and overall design. Industry strong arms, including Lees by The Mohawk Group, Atlas Carpet Mills, and Masland Contract, as well as web-based newcomer whitespace, accepted honors for both broadloom and modular product lines.
An esteemed panel of industry judges—Kyle Barnes of Walt Disney Imagineering; Susan DiMotta of Perkins Eastman; Lori Kolthof of FRCH Worldwide; Jaime Velez of SOM; and Melissa Yu, of Page Southerland Page—noted this year’s award winners for their use of modern fiber styling and inventive textural effects. Among the six recipients, manufacturer Atlas Carpet Mills snagged the Broadloom Gold Award for its playful, versatile Dance Partner Collection series made of Antron Legacy nylon.
