Opinion Ciatti Uptown

Towers of tomes are destined to rise in Uptown, a vertically minded storage system by Lapo Ciatti. Scratch-resistant, solvent-free MDF is used for the 7¾-inch-wide figures, which can stand individually or be combined to create a bunching unit. Available in four heights: 46, 57¾, 70¾, and 81 inches. 39-055-887091; opinionciatti.com. circle 450

PP Mobler Clothes Tree

Whether you fling your duds on a chair, or drape them carefully on a hanger, Cecilie Manz's starkly primitive Clothes Tree is a depot for all dispositions. Featured at Danish Crafts's Mindcraft '08 exhibition, the solid maple rods assemble to an overall size of 60 inches high, 41 wide, and 29½ deep. 45-4817-2106; pp.dk. circle 455

Maison Gerard Rosewood and Yellow

French designer Jean Berenger de Nattes joins the gallery's esteemed roster with 14 pieces of limited-edition furnishings, including the Rosewood and Yellow table. Solid rosewood is lacquered naturally on the 49-by-47-inch top, but polished yellow underneath. It stands 12 inches high on gilded legs. 212-674-7611; maisongerard.com. circle 451

Giorgetti Eon

Richly grained pao ferro steals the scene in Chi Wing Lo's Eon, but the 30 3/8-inch-high buffet also has a strong supporting cast. Nickel-plated steel shines from the base, crystal shelves shimmer inside, and a saddle-leather tray lifts up from the 98 3/8-by-19 5/8-inch top to reveal storage. 888-836-9100; giorgettiusa.com. circle 452

Wexler Gallery Sea

Architect Simon Koumjian III shapes multilayered Baltic birch plywood into sinuous sculptures that ultimately serve as Sea tables. The 23-by-42-by-17-inch styles are finished in a choice of two veneers: sapele pommele, a honey-toned African species, or the dusky Macassar ebony. 215-923-7030; wexlergallery.com. circle 454

Berman Rosetti Elle

Asymmetry adds mystery to Elle, an almost-cantilever console cabinet save for the ½-inch sheet of blackened steel that supports one end of the 2-inch-thick koa tabletop. A walnut chip reveal adds interest. At 72 inches wide, 22 deep, and 29 high, it is produced in additional solid woods and veneers. 310-476-6242; bermanrosetti.com. circle 453

Zoe Mowat Design Contain

Inspired by her childhood school's desks, which featured milled compartments and channels for pencils and the like, Mowat has created an updated version for the adult—the Contain writing desk. Here, the compartmentalized top is formed of cherry with felt-strip detailing; the frame is constructed of plywood. The piece measures 40 inches long by 28 deep by 20 high. zoemowat.com. circle 468

Niche Occasional Tables

Twigs embedded in eco-friendly polyethylene provide guilt-free surfaces for Laura Star's Occasional Tables, in forest-fixated patterns such as Ting Ting, Birch, and Thatch. Dimensions range from a 20-inch-high end table with 16-by-18-inch top, up to a 6-foot-long dining table. The tubular-steel bases come in bronze or silver finishes. 505-699-4209; nichenvironment.com. circle 467

Cate & Nelson Design Crisis

Swedish/Spanish fusion duo Cate Högdahl and Nelson Ruiz-Acal have a Crisis, but no intervention is required. The birch bookcase, 55 inches high, 50 1/3 wide, and 12½ deep, is finished outside with high-gloss white lacquer. But inside, powder-coated paint covers not only shelves, but pre-arranged bric-a-brac—just in case you overachieved during spring-cleaning. 46-733-14-56-11; catenelson.com. circle 464

John Beck Paper & Steel Work

Get 'em while they last—John Beck's one-of-a-kind Work tables are sold in numbered, limited editions of 10 each. The single-pedestal and double-leg versions, both clocking in at 40 by 108 by 30 inches, are handmade in steel with a distressed and waxed finish, then customized with painted graphics. 314-535-4882; johnbecksteel.com. circle 466

Antoine Proulx Info

Fashioning the office equivalent of a status bag, Marc Desplaines opts for walnut instead of leather but keeps the heavy-metal embellishments in his Info desk. The item is available in 25 wood stains, plus six finishes for the steel pedestal and pulls. Ask about custom stains and configurations, and sizes beyond the 91-by-30-by-30-inch standard. 800-457-0756; antoineproulx.com. circle 465

Lam Lee Group Kiama

The organically updated pattern that serves as the base of the Kiama accent table is cut from sheet metal and placed on an Asian hardwood base. Both are dressed in a hand-applied platinum finish and topped with ½-inch-thick glass. Overall dimensions are 28 inches in diameter by 28 high. 972-462-8688; lamleegroup.com. circle 482

JANUS et Cie Amalfi II Hourglass

Geometric silhouettes recalling the ancient Etruscans see a new century in Amalfi II Hourglass. An indoor/outdoor table from the Exterior Elements collection, the 13-inch-diameter stainless-steel frame with powder-coated slate finish tops out at 20 inches high with its clear, tempered-glass surface. 800-245-2687; janusetcie.com. circle 481

Carlo Sipura

The ultra-thin lines of Sipura consoles create the illusion of floating surfaces. In four versions: textured bark or polished white terrazzo at 55 inches long by 18 deep by 29½ high, or 603 inches long by 18 deep by 33½ high. Through Nusa Furniture, 323-937-7055; nusafurniture.com. circle 478

Kartell Ami Ami

Tokujin Yoshioka borrows the Japanese for "weaving" to christen Ami Ami, but his collection eschews looms. Instead, polycarbonate is molded into a chair that is 16 inches wide, 19½ deep, and 33½ high, and a table with aluminum legs that is 27½ inches square and 28 high. In transparent, amber, mother of pearl, smoke gray, or opaline. 866-854-8823; kartell.it. circle 479

Etablished & Sons Delta

British designers Edward Barber and Jay Osgerby imagine improvisational decorating with Delta. The cast-resin triangular accent tables come in three high-gloss finishes, while their hollow cores ease rearrangement whenever the whim strikes. In two sizes: 16-inch-diameter by 17¾ inches high, and 16-inch-diameter by 27½ inches high. 44-20-7608-0990; establishedandsons.com. circle 480
