Markow & Norris take inspiration from Japanese origami for their latest collection.

When glass breaks, it’s garbage. When it bends, it’s art. Just ask Eric Markow and Thom Norris, who collaborate on glass sculptures as Markow & Norris. The latest collection was inspired by the pliability of Japanese origami. From September 3 to October 9, these color-splashed limited-editions will be for sale at Establishment, a gallery-shop in New York. Pieces such as chocolate-tinged Cocoa Azure and kaleidoscopic Eastern Sunset flaunt little bits of glass fringe. Pink Lotus, a six-pointed blossom, was made by layering two separate three-pointed pieces. And five white woven-glass shapes hover overhead as a bird in Peace Crane, Markow & Norris’s first mobile.
