The Centre for Advanced Textiles at the Glasgow School of Art brings the arts and crafts movement into the Wii era with “Mackintosh Reinterpreted: Original Sketches to Digitally Created Fabrics,” opening at the nearby Hunterian Museum and Art Gallery on September 5. Using color-management software to preserve the original detail and gradation of Charles Rennie Mackintosh’s textiles, the center can print its own versions by request. The show features reinterpreted designs alongside previous Mackintosh renditions by Cassina and Bute Fabrics and 14 of Mackintosh’s original watercolors.
