Precious Cargo

by Craig Kellogg -- Interior Design, 7/1/2008

Treasures from the Asian subcontinent served as Stephanie Odegard's sources for the opulence of MughalJewelry rugs from Odegard. Navaratna lays out a diamond, ruby, emerald, blue and yellow sapphire, pearl, hessonite garnet, cat's-eye, and red coral much as they would be arranged in Navaratna jewelry, where each represents a planet. Narrowing her focus, Odegard placed a necklace of sparklers against a blue ground in Diamonds. And the earth tones of Ainu V pop with red accents.

Hand-knotted in standard or custom sizes from vegetable-dyed Himalayan wool, the designs come RugMark-certified. That's true for all Odegard products. 212-545-0069; odegardinc.com. circle 447
