Interior designer Zara Stender will color your world next month in a two-part seminar sponsored by the California Council of Interior Design Certification.
Kicking off the first half will be "Color Trends and the Function of Color," in which Stender will explain how color trends evolve and why color must follow function, as well as color directions in fashion, durable goods and built environments.
In part two, "The Psychology of Color," Sender will explore the biological and psychological impact of color, and its influence on mood, energy, appetite, pain perception, hot and cold sensation, taste, IQ scores, and buying decisions.
Color expert Stender sits on the CCIDC board of directors, and is a vice-chair for the western region of the Color Marketing Group, an international nonprofit association of 1,500 color designers. She’s also the author of Color Secret's Revealed! What Top Designers Know About Color and The Business of Color.
Interior design professionals can earn CCIDC, LU/HSW and HWS credits for the seminar, which is also open to students and the public at large. The two-hour program begins at 1:30 p.m. on September 20 at the Courtyard Marriott located at Burbank Airport in Burbank, California.
