Hot Rods

Jewelry goes on last, of course—and drapery hardware rarely leads a specifier's list. But don't tell that to the staff at Walcot House. Each design from the company's studio reads like a statement piece, certainly not an afterthought. Commanding the most attention, glass details are available in a multitude of colors.

When it comes to finials—35-plus of them, most with matching tiebacks—customers are free to create their own color combinations. Mix-and-match Moonstone finials, for example, are designed to accept round or square ornaments in 12 saturated shades. In the Beaded series, finials are bedecked in "bracelets" of either smooth or faceted beads. Beyond finials, the Universal group's curtain headings are like cuff links for the window: They're offered with both plain stainless-steel heads and, for the more adventurous, 36 colored inserts. Choice extends even to pole material: stainless steel, brushed bronze, ash, or acrylic. If all that decision-making causes any anxiety, the company offers a printed step-by-step checklist to soothe the overstimulated. 44-1993-832940; walcothouse.com. circle 446

In Or Out?

It takes just a single open door to connect the indoors to the outside world. For a furniture designer, however, the gap between the two can be intimidating to conquer. Stefano Gallizioli shows no such trepidation with Coro's Nest collection, which is making its U.S. debut.

Refined enough for a solarium, the Nest chaise longue and accompanying side table are equally patio-worthy. If indoor-outdoor flexibility isn't enough, consider the configuration factor. Separate the two-part Circular sofa, and get a pair of lounge chairs. Or combine two Corner seats to form a chaise.

As for cushion upholstery, specify either COM or an outdoor-safe proprietary fabric that resists mildew and UV rays and comes in seven colors including cinnabar, white, and charcoal black; the filling of small foam pieces allows water to drain right through. Frames are satin-finished stainless steel. All have backs of leather (indoors) or reinforced PVC-nylon cord (out). Lepere, 212-488-7000; lepereinc.com. circle 447

SA Baxter

Patinas establish a decorative through-line for three designs. The egg-shape DK-2100 and basket-weave DK-5906 doorknobs and the oblong LV-2108 door lever are all offered in antiqued bronze in addition to white bronze and brass. 800-407-4295; sabaxter.com. circle 448

Highland Court

Philip Gorrivan's 38-member Bark family of wovens clearly has browns in its DNA. Take Chocolate, a rayon-cotton, and Walnut, a viscose. 800-387-2533; highlandcourtfabrics.com. circle 449

Graham & Brown

Laurence Llewelyn-Brown's travels around the world inspired his Definitive wall coverings. Recalling the landscapes of western India, Jaisamand is a clay-coated nonwoven paper. It comes in chocolate as well as moleskin, celadon, butter milk, ivory, and black-and-white. 800-554-0887; grahambrown.com. circle 450

Segis

Don't sweat the bumps in the road—or on Highway. Bartoli Design's modules, which combine polyurethane-foam seats with supports in lacquered steel, stainless steel, or satin chrome, can be configured into multiple arrangements. There's a sofa version, too. 39-0577-980333; segis.it. circle 451

FAF Design

Capturing the rhythms of life in two dimensions, Onon wall coverings are print-receptive, fire-retardant polyester faux vellum. Choose from 14 textured patterns and 49 finishes. 972-3-5182745; ononsurface.com. circle 452

Lacoste Home

The preppy status symbol comes out of the closet—and heads straight for the bed. Borrowing colors from Lacoste's fall-winter 2008 clothing, the solids of Crocod'il and stripes of Crocod'elle were born to mingle. Both patterns belong to the Casual collection of percale bedding. Phillip Jeffries

Color is in full bloom with Juicy Jute grass cloth. Offered in 29 jewel tones, pastels, and neutrals, this wall covering is hand crafted from jute yarns—twice as many as in a typical grass-cloth construction. The backing is recycled paper. 800-576-5455; phillipjeffries.com. circle 454

Thout

What does high design have in common with grandma's dining room? Just take one look at the Oldschool table, with its classic baluster legs. Start by choosing between maple and ash. Then consider a red, natural, or wengé finish. 416-238-9641; thout.ca. circle 455

M2L

Rescued from archival obscurity, Gerrit Rietveld's Mondial chair from 1957 has been revived as a stackable version. The back and seat are aluminum, joined by rivets, and the frame is bent steel. Armrests boast accents in a phenol-formaldehyde resin, better known as Bakelite. 800-319-8222; m2lcollection.com. circle 456

Duralee

The Leaf-Wisteria series, with its mélange of springlike purples, includes the indoor-outdoor acrylic fabrics 14964 and 14966. Prefer the colors of Papaya-Raspberry, Pool-Indigo, Praline-Jute, or Ivory-Black? Like Leaf-Wisteria, they can be found in Pavilion Volume III. 800-275-3872; duralee.com. circle 457
