Commercial carpet manufacturer Fortune Contract has singled out three interior design projects displaying innovative use of Fortune carpet products as winners of its first annual Yards to Miles design competition. The national grand prize goes to AXIS Architecture + Interiors and two firms are regional runner-ups: Fee Munson Ebert, and Hickok Cole Architects. The results were revealed during a breakfast at furnishings showcase NeoCon World's Trade Fair in Chicago.
AXIS earned the top prize for its design for software company Exact Target Corporate Headquarters in Indianapolis, Indiana. The Axis design team, including principal Drew White, project architect John Albrecht, and interior design Nikki Sutton, selected Fortune Contract’s Stripe Tease to add a "playful air."
Fee Munson Ebert was named the West Coast Regional Winner for its project renovation for law firm Baker McKenzie in San Francisco. Design team members David Ebert, design principal; David Peebles, production principal; and Carolyn Polinski, project manager, chose Fortune Contract’s, Big Forecast carpet.
The headquarters of the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation in Lansdowne, Virginia landed Hickok Cole Architects the East Coast Regional prize. Here, principal in charge Michael E. Hickok, Sean P. Wayne, Ann C. McCall, and Jason Wright, caught the jury's eye with their savvy use of Fortune Contract’s, Rhythm.
"We were amazed at the caliber of entries in our first year of Fortune’s Yards to Miles design competition," stated Judith Ingalls, vice president of style and design. "They raised the bar on the integration of Fortune products to create truly inspirational spaces."
AXIS Architecture + Interiors was awarded an American Express Travel Gift Card, the Yards to Miles crystal sculpture, and a trip to Chicago. All winners will be showcased on the Fortune Web site.
