This year, contract furnishings event NeoCon East 2005, at the Baltimore Convention Center September 14-15, has increased its offering of seminars and association forums. Attendees--predicted to top 6,500--have more than 40 to choose from. Topics have an all-encompassing range.
James May of Granary Associates will deliver "Art and Architecture," offering a pediatric cancer center as a case study of art as architecture (the center was covered in the March issue of Interior Design).
In her seminar titled The Art of Plastics in Architecture and Design, Mary Boone Wellington of M.B. Wellington Studio will explore the structural and design aspects of plastics as green projects.
For those who are looking to explore the potential drama of low-voltage lighting, as well as the use, implementation, and design options offered by these systems, Eric S. Borden of Sea Gull Lighting Products presents Designing with Light.
Over 250 exhibitors are expected for NeoCon East, which draws federal and local government designers and specifiers, commercial designers and specifiers, facility managers, architects, real estate executives, space planners, wholesalers, and manufacturing representatives, among others. The trade show and exhibition showcases interior design, architectural and facilities management industries of the mid-Atlantic region.
