The winning product was designed in conjunction with the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business.

At the Society for College and University Planning (SCUP-40) Conference last month, July 23-27, office furniture manufacturer KI took home the Best and Brightest Idea Award for the Wharton Lectern. The award is determined by the academic planners, facilities planners, architects, and designers affiliated with the higher education market who attend the event.

Designed in conjunction with the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business, the lectern electronically adjusts to accommodate various speaker heights. Standard features include an expanding top, laptop storage tray, flexible dimming light, gooseneck microphone, two drink holders and a technology well.

"By listening to customers and understanding their needs, KI develops customized solutions that help colleges and universities create efficient, effective learning environments," says Barry Swanquist, vice president of marketing, educational markets at KI. "We’re honored that the Wharton Lectern was chosen by both facility planners and architects and designers for this prestigious award."
