Pick Me Ups

In these frenzied times, mobility is the name of the game. Happily, the Marionet side table follows
suit. Contemplating the posture of puppets, German designer Simon Busse conceived it for Swiss
manufacturer Mox as the furnishings equivalent.

The three points of the central steel support are inserted into slots in flat solid-oak legs. A hook on
the top of the connector holds a rubber band that stretches to penetrate the top, a 20.-inch diameter
disc of sheet steel, powder-coated black or white. While the band creates a nifty handle, eager to
accommodate improvisational decorating, it’s also critical to maintain the table’s 22-inch height.
Then again, none of the parts are expendable.“The table stands firmly only if all its components
interact,” Busse says. “If one is missing, it collapses.” All for one and one for all. mox.ch.
