Something's Brewing in Michigan

Zaha Hadid Architects's much anticipated Eli and Edythe Broad Art Museum at Michigan State University in East Lansing won't open until November 9. Meanwhile, summer programming in a leased space includes "Kristin Cammermeyer: Resituating," through July 22. Like the pop-up venue, formerly the Chrome Cat bar, the sculptures are about repurposing. Chunk, for example, incorporates plywood and spray foam, debris that Cammermeyer, a recent Cranbrook Academy of Art MFA, found around Detroit. At the end of the exhibition, her first solo show, select pieces will go into the Broad Art Museum's permanent collection.
