As New York’s Design Week kicked off on May 18, Ronan Bouroullec and Philippe Grohe hosted ICFFers at the Axor showroom on the top level of Vitra’s shared 3,000-square-foot space in the city’s Meatpacking District. The party celebrated the launch of Phaidon’s Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec: Works, written by Vitra’s director of research and head of PR and partnerships, Anniina Koivu. The 304-page book documents the entire career to date of Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec, who took the design world by storm with their first joint projects in the late 1990s.

Guests at Axor waited in line to have Ronan sign their complimentary copies of Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec: Works, which he adorned with illustrious sketches in fuchsia felt-tip pen. The monograph explores the designers' work by theme, pairing furniture, lighting, and limited-edition pieces for the likes of Alessi, Vitra, and Flos with photographs chosen by the Bouroullecs and previously unpublished images and drawings from their archives. The following day, Bouroullec spoke at ICFF Center Stage at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center for a packed lecture moderated by Monocle design editor Hugo Macdonald.
