Designer Matteo Thun takes it to the edge with his understated Onto washbasin and console ensemble. A dramatic sweep of bonded plywood supports one or two ceramic sinks-offered in rectangular or round formats-and drops gently in front. Available in European oak, dark chestnut, matte-white, and matte-basalt finishes, the console is oiled and waxed to prevent warping. Surfaces can also be fitted with openings for towels. Scavolini

The video game Tetris served as the stylistic precedent for the bright rectangles and clean, handle-free lines of Michael Young's modular Textrix kitchen. New Ravenna

The Regio integrated toilet offers a spalike experience, with soft LED lights illuminating the fixture's bowl and foot-plus music that plays when the automatic lid opens, revealing a heated seat. Altro + Supergrif

When challenged to rethink the bathroom, the French artist-designer known as Ora-Ïto decided that "simplexity"-a term he coined-would be his watchword. Case in point: his eponymous new collection's P-shape sink, with discreet high-tech details like a touch-pad mirror and an antifog system. In keeping with the designer's elegantly minimal aesthetic, the components are rendered in white resin for a pristine presentation. The designers of the Xiara collection had a twofold mission: to execute a line more "feminine" than the manufacturer's other streamlined offerings and to answer the demand for scaled-back fixtures and fittings. The Rainbrain shower control could have been lifted from the pages of a sci-fi novel. Granada

The Echo collection nods to great cities around the globe, from Athens to Kyoto; other inspirations for these vivid little artworks were Calder, Matisse, and Japanese quilting.
