The 550-acre waterfront venue that is New York's Hudson River Park just welcomed another constituent. Designed by a consortium of eight firms, Pier 25 is the longest in the park-with enough space to boast a playground, sports facilities, and an esplanade. This spring will bring the openings of a community dock and a multipurpose complex comprising a mini golf course, a snack bar, and a dockmaster building in zinc and glazed brick. The snack bar and dockmaster structures are by WXY Architecture + Urban Design, which recently earned an Emerging Voices award from the Architectural League of New York. The firm is also designing a restaurant for neighboring Pier 26, currently under construction.
