Fly Away

Kelly Beamon, Jen DeRose, and Craig Kellogg -- Interior Design, 4/1/2007 12:00:00 AM

For five days in March, architects at the Hassell firm in Australia didn't have to look far for inspiration—just up from their work. As part of the L'Oréal Melbourne Fashion Festival, their office housed "The Space Between," showcasing fashion by Elizabeth Delfs.

Citing influences such as Zaha Hadid, the 23-year-old Delfs is clearly the daughter of an architect. "My pieces are meant to be seen from different angles, much like a building," she says. A blend of couture and construction, these "object garments" are both unisex and one-size-fits-all. Witness her CircleSquareTriangle Form in folded fly-screen material, chic on man, woman, or wall.
