First Ever Commerce Design Brussels Recognizes Shop Design

The public is invited to vote for their favorite of the 10 winners of the first Commerce Design Awards Brussels.

Savvy consumers are already aware of how branding can largely influence shoppers' spending. But presentation and atmosphere are also big factors, and with that acknowledgement, entrepreneurs and shop owners are looking to smart design to help them sell their wares. Some of those businesses and their architects are now being honored in Commerce Design Brussels, the first ever competition recognizing outstanding and innovative commercial design in the Belgian region.

Taking cues from the 2003-founded Commerce Design Montreal, the contest looks at aesthetics, creativity, functionality, safety, coherence, longevity, but also contributions toward the revitalization of urban environments via design.

The contest narrowed the field to 10 winners earlier this year, and now the public is invited to vote online for the people’s choice award through the end of this month at the competition website. (FYI, the site is in French and Dutch.) The people's choice winner will be announced at Design September Festival in Brussels.
