Where do design professionals in the healthcare arena learn about new trends and technology? Celebrating its 20th anniversary, the annual Healthcare Facilities Symposium & Expo focuses on how physical space impacts the delivery of healthcare. The 2007 show, to be held October 2-4 at Navy Pier in Chicago, will showcase more than 200 exhibitors.
This year's keynote speakers are Kathleen Keller Passanisi, an experienced health care professional, business woman and educator, and James A. Cohick, administrator of Shriners Hospital for Children in Chicago. Passanisi is the founder of New Perspectives, a publication which addresses issues in wellness, quality of living, stress management, and the link that exists between humor and health. She will speak Tuesday, October 2, from 8:30am-10:00am. Cohick opened and ran the first children’s teaching specialty surgery and rehabilitation hospital in Africa. He will speak Wednesday, October 3, from 10:30am-11:30am.
The expo will also include 60 plus educational sessions in areas including Master Planning, Design & Construction, Evidence Based Design, Sustainability, and Technology. More than 15 continuing education credits from the American Institute of Architects (AIA), International Facility Management Association (IFMA) and American Society of Interior Designers (ASID, IDC, IDEC, IIDA and NKBA), and Health, Safety, and Welfare AIA (HSW) will be offered.
Attendees include facility managers and planners, consultants, architects, planning and construction professionals, interior designers, product and service providers, and executive healthcare managers.
Group rates are available for teams of three or more. For a complete event round up visit the Healthcare Facilities Symposium & Expo.
