Food Fight!

Karen D. Singh, Craig Kellogg, and Mark McMenamin -- Interior Design, 1/1/2009 12:00:00 AM

Alpes InoxAlpes Inox scored a KO in 1998 with innovative flip-up hobs for multiple burners. A decade later, lead designer Nico Moretto is keeping his 50-year-old company in fighting form with cooktops, ranges, wall ovens, and accessories, most made from an ever polished, highly resistant 19/10 nickel-chrome stainless composite. Things really heat up with the speedy 4½-kilowatt triple-crown burners fueled either by gas alone or by gas and electric. For the tight-on-space gourmet, the electric grills and ceramic hot plates might well save the day. And the fry baskets' ergonomic details, such as balanced handles and rounded corners, are sure to set chefs sizzling. 39-0424-513500; alpesinox.com. circle 431
