Leading Onward

The American Federation of Arts has presented its Cultural Leadership Award to Susan Weber Soros, founder and director of the Bard Graduate Center in New York, and multimedia artist Bill Viola, for their contributions to the museum community. Thanks to Soros, Bard produces films that promote art; Viola has been instrumental in establishing video as a serious contemporary-art form.
