Focus on Paris

Edited by Sheila Kim-Jamet -- Interior Design, 10/1/2004 12:00:00 AM

With more than 70 percent of exhibiting galleries located outside France and a total of 15 foreign countries represented, this year's Paris Photo fair brings a newly international perspective to the Carrousel du Louvre. The 100-plus participating dealers and publishers include the Leica Gallery from Prague, the Silk Road Gallery from Teheran, Iran, and Picture Photo Space from Osaka, Japan—and works on offer are equally diverse in origin, ranging from the rare and vintage to the cutting-edge.

Paris Photo 2004 also marks the introduction of the Prix BMW–Paris Photo. The $15,000 award goes to an exhibiting photographer selected from a list of 50 compiled by a jury of critics, dealers, and collectors. November 11-14; 33-1-41-90-47-70; parisphoto.fr.
