Healthcare Design Conference Tackles Quality, Trends

Exhibitors, educational sessions, and workshops address technology, materials, and service.

Staff -- Interior Design, 10/5/2005 12:00:00 AM

In today’s booming healthcare industry, quality environments are in high demand. The third annual Healthcare Design conference, to be held in Scottsdale, Arizona November 6-9, aims to help advance the built environment and educate industry professionals.

Architects and interior designers make up 45 percent of the attendees, with facility managers, administrators, contractors, and engineers rounding out the crowd. More than 100 exhibitors will present the latest in technology, equipment, materials, and services.

Sponsored by the Center for Health Design, an organization focused on evidence-based research on the built environment, and Healthcare Design Magazine, the conference offers ten educational tracks and 34 educational sessions, all of which are CEU-accredited; design professionals can earn up to 15 continuing education units from AIA, ASID, and other affiliates. Four design-oriented workshops will be offered, and several networking events. Three keynote presentations will address excellence in service, international trends, and the psychology of design. Facility tours will also be held.
