Positive Altitude

Mark McMenamin -- Interior Design, 11/1/2007 12:00:00 AM

The Colorado Rockies may have lost the World Series, but the team's capital city is becoming a contender when it comes to world-class design. On the heels of Studio Daniel Libeskind's Denver Art Museum extension and Adjaye Associates's Museum of Contemporary Art/Denver building, the action is moving to hospitality. The Ritz-Carlton, Denver, by Pahl Architecture and Design Force should open in December, well in advance of the Democratic National Convention next summer. Five blocks away, Carney Architects, HKS, Bilkey Llinas Interiors, and Clausen-Chewning Interior Design are collaborating on the Four Seasons Hotel Denver for 2009. There's going to be another museum in 2010, too: Allied Works Architecture has begun planning its home for the holdings of the Clyfford Still estate.
