Built Environment: Its Influence on Productivity

Participants can obtain .1 CEU credit through the ASID.

Staff -- Interior Design, 7/5/2005 12:00:00 AM

Internationally recognized expert on the built environment's affect on workplace productivity, Adrian Leaman, managing director of Building Use Studies, will lead an hour-long Webcast at www.informedesign.umn.edu. The free Webcast will address the question "How do buildings affect productivity at work?"

Leaman admits data on the subject is difficult to measure, but offers findings based on surveys he has conducted. The results suggest the best office designs have "reasonable outside awareness," and environments that are not too hot, noisy, or overcrowded, and that offer some measure of personal control.

Participants can obtain .1 CEU credit through the American Society of Interior Designers for the program. More information is available online under "Webcasts."

Use of a dial-up modem to connect to the Webcast is not recommended as the presentation is optimized for broadband internet access.
