Pallas Textiles Taps Three New Designers

Guido Clark has worked with clients including Samsung, Apple, Mattel, and Toyota.

Textile manufacturer Pallas Textiles has entered into an agreement with design talents Laura Guido Clark, Lucy Aiken Johnson, and Sue Ross. Each of the three new designers, as well as longtime collaborator Lori Weitzner, will create a line for 2007.

The manufacturer, named after Pallas Athena, Greek Goddess of Weaving, intends to use the collaborations to double annual product introductions. Considered an expert in the “skin” of consumer products—color, materials and finish—Guido Clark has worked with clients including Samsung, Apple, Mattel, and Toyota. Aiken will draw from her experience in corporate interior design: She has picked up ASIS gold, silver and bronze awards, a NeoCon Textiles Gold Award and a Best of NeoCon Award. Winner of multiple Best of NeoCon Gold Awards, Ross has an upholstery and two panel collections for corporate, hospitality, and institutional markets in the works for Pallas. Weitzner, who joined the firm in 1998, has completed a sustainable collection made with bamboo, a cubicle collection and a Crypton collection for the healthcare, institutional, and corporate markets for 2007.

“Their new lines will emphasize unique and innovative design, incorporate cutting edge performance technology, and support smart environmental practices,” says David White, vice president and general manager, Pallas Textiles.

A wholly-owned subsidiary of furniture manufacturer KI, Pallas Textiles was established in 1988.
