The Harrison cross-handle basin set provides a hint of old-world charm. An extensive range of finish choices is available, including English silver, polished or brushed nickel, burnished platinum, Flemish patina, and antique pewter. Visit site.

Topdeq

The translucent blue acrylic of the Allegio rest-room series brings idyllic images of the Caribbean to mind. The range—made of pearly melamine with aluminum frames and chrome-plated metal legs—includes four pieces: a versatile hanging box and tall, short, and under-sink cabinets. Visit site.

Devon & Devon

Newport, a classic English-style vanity, calls out to the anglophile in us. Actually produced in Italy, the vanity is made of solid dark oak with frosted-glass inset panels and a generous white china basin. At Hastings Tile. Visit site.

Duravit

Philippe Starck has come up with another terrific design for the bath. The origins of his simple oval tub can be traced back to archetypal washtubs, yet it feels emphatically modern. Both one- and two-seater models, made in sanitary acrylic, are available with comfortable sloping backrests. Visit site.

Bosch

The ultraquiet Integra Limited dishwasher incorporates this company's exclusive Apexx wash. Soil sensors guarantee complete cleaning, while flow-control technology ensures performance as well as water and energy savings. Visit site.

Miele

The MasterChef oven incorporates so many high-tech features that we worry about the need for chefs of the flesh-and-bone variety. This self-cleaning unit stores programs for favorite recipes, provides a convection warming drawer and an easy LCD display, and operates in five languages. There's even a Sabbath mode, which will not activate until food is placed inside and then remains on for up to 72 hours. Visit site.

Alchemy

The handcrafted Velvet Cienega sink only seems to be conjured by magic. Actually, artisans employ a fuse-and-slump process to produce the glass basin in an explosion of vibrant tones, from dark copper to blue, green, and magenta. A cast-bronze vanity frame and a wave-pattern glass counter complete the one-of-a-kind look. Visit site.

Varenna/Poliform

The Tecna collection by Studio Kairos breaks down the kitchen into its most elemental parts. Freestanding elements provide adaptable storage and work-top solutions in addition to wall-hung and wall-unit components. Door finishes include multilayer laminate or lacquer in a variety of colors, or white painted-glass with an aluminum frame. Visit site.
