Absolute artistry

The Peggy Guggenheim Collection's modern paintings inspired the colors and patterns of Abstract Matters, a new line of textiles, rugs, and wall coverings by Designtex. So the manufacturer brought friends and colleagues all the way to Venice to admire product and artwork together.

Look who's painting the town

Benjamin Moore & Co.'s new Hue Awards honor the innovative command of color in architecture and design—with a $5,000 prize, no less. The inaugural year's awards went to Moore Ruble Yudell Architects & Planners, Drake Design Associates, Clive Wilkinson Architects, TVS Interiors, Daniel Weiland Architect, and the Rockwell Group; the lifetime-achievement award went to architect Steven Holl. The ceremony took place at New York event space Skylight.
