Wall Covering

Staff -- Interior Design, 10/31/2008 12:00:00 AM

Designlush Japanese Flower

A fusion of bold yet intricate cultural influences—including Italian marquetry, Spanish lace, and Japanese florals—is at play in the Japanese Flower wall panels. A rich blue backdrop is traced with tarnished gold detail to create the effect of inlay. The wall covering is fabricated with white oak and each panel is 195/8 -inches-square. 212-532-5450; designlush.com. circle 480

Phillip Jeffries Voyage

Like a steamer trunk full of treasures collected while traveling abroad, the Voyage collection is composed of eight different patterns, each evocative of a different destination. Arches incorporates undulating curves on ivory-colored Manila hemp and is available in seven colorways: blue, cream, green, chocolate brown, white, metallic gold, and metallic platinum. 800-576-5455; phillipjeffries.com. circle 483

Elli Popp Haron Island

Londoner Katja Behre creates fanciful mural and repeat wallpaper designs in serene and graphic colors. Haron Island features the noble birds in a complex coloration melding rose, peach, pink, cream, and truffle in a single colorway; it is one of four. 44-07-957-135-041; ellipopp.com. circle 487

Jim Thompson Alice

Like Alice, who ate a teacake and grew to enormous proportions, this patterned silk is ripe with oversized fruits and heavy flowers. The silk and cotton blended Alice shares the sensibilities of 17th-century damask. It is available in nine colorways and is 56 inches wide. 800-262-0336; jimthompson.com. circle 484

Arc-Com Fabrics Burnished Lazio

The 54-inch-wide rolls are made of Type II vinyl with non-woven backing. Choose from abalone, opal, blazed bronze, and gilded copper. 845-365-1100; arc-com.com. circle 486

Stark Wallcovering Paradiso & Lambrada

The Flamante collection is composed of six designs. Two of which—Paradiso and Lambrada—evoke the energy of Flamenco dancing. With flock on paper, these ebony lines grow wildly in a pattern that is 20½ inches by 33 feet wide. 212-355-7186; starkwallcovering.com. circle 485

Wolf-Gordon Adire

Adire is a welcome addition to the Permawall HP collection, a line of high performance polyolefin wall coverings. Available in 14 colorways with a 54-inch width. 800-347-0550; wolf-gordon.com. circle 491

Seabrook Wallcoverings SBK14255

The beauties of nature—fluttering butterflies, delicate flowers and leaves, perching birds—take center stage in the manufacturer's Eco Chic collection. The line's 22 patterns represent these natural aspects with abstract and hip graphics, as seen in the stamp-like, tree-trunk design of SBK14255, printed onto vinyl and offered in four colorways. The entire collection is screen-printed using water-based inks. 800-238-9152; seabrookwallpaper.com. circle 490

Trove Azha & Indi

Mastering the art of trompe d'oeil, these magical wall coverings are haunting. Some are cast in ashen colors and, like Azha and Indi, teem with wildlife. Others come in more antique hues of pink, sepia, and blue; all are available in 35½-inch widths. 212-268-2046; troveline.com. circle 497
