Beginning April 17, hospitality designers can submit entries to the 26th annual Gold Key Awards for Excellence in Hospitality Design International, bestowed by the International Hotel/Motel & Restaurant Show. The worldwide competition for designers of lodging and restaurant properties will feature awards in eight categories: Restaurants/Casual Dining, Restaurants/Fine Dining, Lounge/Bar, Best Hotel Design, Guest Rooms, Suites, Lobby/Reception Area, and Spa.
Entries can be submitted online, and must be received by July 1. Each must represent a new design or renovation project completed between January 1, 2005 and June 1, 2006. The entry fee is $150 for the first project, and $100 for subsequent projects. A panel of prominent designers and lodging industry professionals will serve as competition judges.
The Gold Key Awards are open to designers of various hospitality facilities, such as hotels, motels, timeshares, restaurants, clubs, cruise ships, casinos, conference centers, spas, and more. Finalists and grand prize winners will be honored at a breakfast ceremony on November 13 at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in New York. Awards sponsors Interior Design and Hotels magazines will present the Designer of the Year Award, while NEWH, the Hospitality Industry Network, will present its Icon of the Industry distinction. Tickets for the breakfast, also a scholarship fundraiser for NEWH, are $75 each and will be available beginning May 1.
The event will coincide with the annual International Hotel/Motel & Restaurant Show, which will run from November 11-14 at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center. Following a full-day of conference and networking activities on November 11, IH/M&RS will feature three full days of exhibits, showcasing approximately 1,400 hospitality industry suppliers and attracting nearly 35,000 industry professionals.
We would love your feedback!
