House Industries

The iconic Boomerang chair was designed by Richard Neutra in 1942 for his Channel Heights Housing project in San Pedro, California. A limited edition of 100 chairs has been refined, signed, and numbered by his son, Dion. Available in walnut- or maple-finished veneer with a woven web seat. Visit site.

Hivemindesign

Sather Duke's background as a sculptor is evident in the design of his Campaign chair, part of a larger line of furniture. There is a distinct edginess to its silhouette and an intriguing tension between the wood and metal. Phone 718-782-3539 for information.

Lattuca Group

The NM sofa revisits the 18th-century French technique of verre eglomisé (reversed hand-leafed glass). The frame, arms, and back are all glass, with leather-upholstered cushions and two-tone welting. A choice of 18 leaf colors ranges from a rich honey silver to a jewel-toned red.

Ensconce

Robert Dombroski's Cello chair is divinely simple. Made without pins or brackets, it's constructed from three interlocking rings of baltic birch, plus a fabric seat. To reduce waste, the centers of the wood rings are used to create a companion Cello table. Visit site.

Adrenalina

The Nuda sofa by Simone Micheli is virtually stripped bare of decoration. The appeal? Voluptuously soft, enveloping forms. Visit site.

Arold

The Cube collection is comfortable, affordable, and—dare we say—just plain cute. The mini club chair is made of plywood and foam with a steel base that can be set on castors or legs. Also available in an armchair and love seat. Phone 866-754-2876 for information.

Walter Rossi

The Club sofa looks ready to rock, hovering buoyantly above the ground. Actually, the piece remains stationary, thanks to a bracket of solid-steel rods at the back and bottom. Visit site.

Periphere

The Thin seat exudes equal measures of technological and sensual appeal. We especially like the assured yet delicate silhouette of the ultra-lean seat, stamped from a steel frame and wrapped in a pad of high-density injected foam. Visit site.
