For the fourth year in a row, Parsons the New School for Design is hosting its free annual international symposium dedicated to the critical review of the interior.
Dubbed "Aftertaste: Moving In," the program will take place April 2 and 3 at the school's Sheila C. Johnson Design Center in New York, though it will be open to the general public. For the first time ever, it will include the contributions of the school's new MFA Interior Design Program which launched this past fall, in addition to the work of the School of Constructed Environments at Parsons, the only integrated school of interior design, lighting design, product design, and architecture in the country.
The symposium will once again address the challenges and opportunities of contemporary interior design in the 21st century and integrate history, theory, design, material experimentation, and sustainable practice.
Dutch designer Claudy Jongstra is set to deliver the keynote. Panelists currently onboard include Vitra workplace consultant Margit Geist, LTL Architects principal, and Parsons design workshop director David Lewis, and Q Collection design director and Parsons MFA Interior Design Program director Jonsara Ruth.
