Swedish Design Exhibit to Coincide with ICFF

The interactive exhibition and workshop will feature the work of four collaborative design groups.

“Happy Campers,” an interactive exhibition and workshop featuring Swedish design groups, will take place at Skylight Studios May 22-23, coinciding with the International Contemporary Furniture Fair (ICFF). Part of the off-site “Mobile Living” exhibition, “Happy Campers” will feature the work of four collaborative design groups: Defyra, Research and Development, Uglycute and We Work In A Fragile Material. With the help of the public, the design groups will build their installations and lead workshops on site.

The exhibit aims to explore collaboration, social interaction, and the Swedish relationship to nature and mobile living. Visitors will participate in the growth of a 13-foot troll, stuff hot dog pillows by the yard, and spend a virtual day in the Stockholm archipelago, according to press material. From May 23 through August, New York's Salvor Kiosk will have items and videos from the exhibition on display, and for sale.

Skylight Studios is located at 275 Hudson Street, at Spring Street.

The 18th annual ICFF, North America’s premier event for contemporary design, will take place May 20-23 at New York’s Jacob K. Javits Convention Center. The fair will feature contemporary furniture, seating, carpet and flooring, outdoor furniture, materials, wall coverings, accessories, textiles, and kitchen and bath products from 550 exhibitors, hailing from 31 countries. More than 21,000 visitors are expected to attend.
