Test Drive a Sub-Zero 700 Series

Need proof of the power of interior design? Mercedes-Benz has just discovered that a high-end fridge or sofa can be a marketing tool. When prospective car owners show up for a test drive at a LoveMercedes Tour site nationwide, they're also greeted by the products of the Sub-Zero Freezer Company and Flexform, among others. The tour concludes in Dallas, from October 22 to 24.

Klee Spree

New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art is presenting "Klee: His Years at the Bauhaus (1921-1931)," opening November 12. Created during Paul Klee's time at the school's two locations, the 30 pieces exemplify the Swiss artist's experimental, humorous, and metaphysical painting style.

Space To Soar

Architecture firm Spector Group is breaking ground on a 245,000-square-foot, seven-story addition to the National Museum of Naval Aviation and National Flight Academy in Pensacola, Florida. The plan features a theater, a restaurant, and classrooms and dormitories for academy students. Completion is slated for 2006.

The Good Old Days

Betting that local professionals are ready to incorporate older pieces in contemporary interiors, Caskey-Lees is launching the Los Angeles Interior Design & Antiques Show. The event runs from November 11 to 14 at the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium, with an opening to benefit DIFFA.
