The U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) is strengthening its online green platform. Just after announcing a new site for green education, the organization introduces another online resource, this time focusing on homebuyers and homeowners. The Green Home Guide dials in on sustainable design for the home.
With testimonials from families who have achieved LEED for Homes certification, checklists for new homes and renovations, and tips for cutting cost, the site offers extensive information for those deciding to go green. Categories include What Makes a Green Home, Green Home Programs, Guide for Green Renovation, Living Green, Resources, and New and Events.
Curious about the impact of your lifestyle? The site includes a carbon calculator from the Environmental Protection Agency that gives you the answer.
"As Americans learn more about the importance of their actions on the health of their families and future generations, living a greener life becomes more vital," says Rick Fedrizzi, president, CEO and founding chair of the USGBC. "Where better to start than in the home?"
We would love your feedback!
