Fair Weather

edited by Sheila Kim-Jamet -- Interior Design, 11/1/2005 12:00:00 AM

Angling for the Art Basel Miami Beach crowd and betting on buzz generated by the younger NADA art fair, which runs simultaneously, newcomer Pulse is pitching a 30,000-square-foot tent in Miami's Wynwood district during the same four days. Helen Allen and Will Ramsay—who run the AAF Contemporary Art Fair, aka the Affordable Art Fair—are raising prices above $10,000 and inviting 47 dealers to participate.

New York's Feigen Contemporary and McKenzie Fine Art and Berlin's Springer & Winckler Galerie are among those showing a selection of edgy, emerging artists as a complement to Art Basel's classics. Pulse will also feature an exhibition organized by independent curator Jade Dellinger. December 1-4; 212-255-2327; pulse-art.com.
