Macef, held each year at Fieramilano exhibition center in Milan, is looking to up its international flavor. The International Home Fair has implemented a plan to recruit new foreign exhibitors and visitors starting with its 2007 show, which will run September 7-10.
Over the past year, the fair had representatives at the Chicago International Home & Housewares Show, the Hong Kong Housewares Show, and at the Sidim in Montreal in Canada. Currently, about 25 percent of companies exhibiting and 12 percent of attendees hail from foreign shores.
"I believe that the fair system in a country like Italy is above all a marketing mix tool at the disposal of businesses," says Sandro Bicocchi, chairman and managing director of Fiera Milano International, the show's organizer. "In no part of the world are there so many small and medium enterprises that are leaders in their respective global markets."
The 2007 show will feature over 100,000 square feet of exhibition space, 2,200 exhibitors and over 75,000 visitors. Sectors include Table/Kitchen and Table Culture; Classic Style (including stationary); Home Decoration; Experience, (dedicated to trends); Gift Articles; Bijoux (costume jewelry); Silver (both for the home & person); September Gold (semi-finished jewelry and stones); and More (precious jewelry and accessories).
We would love your feedback!
