With a sold-out event featuring a silent auction, dance lessons, and more, the American Society of Interior Designers-Illinois Chapter (ASID-IL) and the International Interior Design Association- Illinois Chapter (IIDA-IL) raised more than $7,000 for the Illinois Interior Design Coalition (IIDC). Held December 11 at the Carnivale Restaurant and Lounge in Chicago's West Loop, the fourth annual Holiday Rendezvous drew more than 250 members of the local interior design community.
A not-for-profit legislative political action committee, the IIDC is open to all interior designers and those in related fields. In addition to raising funds to support the legislative efforts of the IIDC, the Holiday Rendezvous supports the two organizations' common goal: Protecting a designer's right to practice.
"We're so pleased that members of both associations and our industry friends came to celebrate and benefit a very worthy organization that will use the funds wisely," says ASID-IL chapter president Joyal E. Watkins, Jr.
Highlights included two professional Latin dance instructors who demonstrated salsa, a stilt walker, a silent auction, appetizers from Carnivale, and an open bar including holiday Mojitos.
Event sponsors included Coverings: Ultimate Stone & Tile Experience; OEC Business Interiors/Steelcase; Shaw; Knoll Chicago; Ultron/Solutia; and Mannington Commercial.
We would love your feedback!
