Call for Entries: Tile of Spain Awards

A monetary award will also be presented for a student project.

The Spanish Ceramic Tile Manufacturers’ Association (ASCER) is seeking entries for its 5th annual Tile of Spain Awards of Architecture and Interior Design competition. A nod to outstanding architectural and interior design projects which incorporate ceramic tiles from Spain, the award’s program includes 18,000 euro (about $23,000) prizes each for the architecture and interior design categories, as well as a 9,000 euro prize (about $11,500 ) for a student category.

Professional architects, interior designers, architectural engineers, landscapers, and decorators of all nationalities are invited to apply. Projects, which must be completed between January 2005 and October 2006, can range from new construction, renovation and restoration projects, urban development projects, to exterior landscaping.

Jury members include Chilean architect Mathias Klotz, who will serve as jury president; architects Juan Herreros and José Morales; architect and editor of Tectónica magazine, Carlos Quintáns; interior designer Isabel López; industrial designer Martí Guixé; and Ramón Monfort, dean of the Castellón School of Architects.

Submissions must be received by October 31. More information is available online.
