Inspired by the movement of water, David Brunicardi's Welle coffee table flows from one level to the next, providing additional storage space along the way. Made of Trupan ultralight MDF with walnut veneer, the table measures 56 inches wide by 26 inches deep by 18 inches high. Phone 510-649-8895 for information.

Eric Brand Furniture

We love the slightly eccentric San Felipe nightstand. The juxtaposition of the soberly rectilinear top and more sensual lower quarters strikes an enticing balance. Shown in American walnut, the piece measures 25 inches wide by 18 inches deep by 28 inches high. Visit site.

Hugues Chevalier

The Taïpan desk is fit for last emperors and executives alike, with refined proportions and rich materials, such as sycamore and leather, that recall the 1930s and '40s. More wood stains and leather colors available. Phone  Studium at 212-486-1811 for information.

Molteni & C

The 2020 storage range is all about precise lines and stunning surfaces in wengé, sanded cherry, and natural or gray oak, among other choices. Doors are offered in colored glass. The unit can also be fitted with up to three interior shelves, for use as a console in the living room or storage in the bedroom. Phone Ernest Stoecklin International Furniture, at 877-665-8364, or visit site for information.

Bailey Humbert Heck

Hand-fabricated in a limited run, the Tension table shows meticulous attention to detail. Derived from a simple structural diagram, the perfectly 24-inch-square form is pared down to the essentials: cherry legs, stainless-steel brackets, tension cables, and glass shelves. Visit site.

Matteograssi

Designer Franco Poli's Utilia collection includes three tables and a floor-mounted ashtray. All pieces feature bases edged in a choice of colored leathers and tops made of Canaletto walnut. Phone Arredo at 212-334-2363 for information.

Material Furniture

The ingenious slot-together Knock-Down/Drag-Out table conveniently collapses for moving or storage. Among the table's other virtues is its mid-century style in birch plywood, making the design appropriate for dining or conferencing. Visit site.

Architectural Systems

These stacking cubes are from the Display Elements collection. Robust and versatile, they are available in three sizes and a range of vibrant shades and finishes. A grid-patterned bas-relief surface, Screen, was developed exclusively for the company by DuPont Corian. Visit site.

Lawson-Fenning

Observing clients' tendency to dine Japanese-style at their cocktail tables, Glenn Lawson conceived the Delacey, based on a 1950s design. The walnut top expands to reveal a laminate surface in a choice of colors. Solid alder base.
