Gunlocke Debuts Washington, D.C. Showroom

Gensler's design includes a tunnel entry.

Mairi Beautyman -- Interior Design, 7/16/2008 12:00:00 AM

The White House is just a stone's throw away from a new Gunlocke showroom. The wood contract furniture manufacturer's recently unveiled 5,200-square-foot space in Washington, D.C. is situated only two blocks from the president's principle place of residence and work.

Located on the ninth floor at 1331 F. Street North West, the showroom highlights the complete range of Gunlocke products and solutions with a design by architecture and design firm Gensler. Visitors enter through a tunnel to discover a three-story atrium. Business transactions take place in a sunny conference room.

Several sustainable elements are incorporated into the space. The tunnel is fabricated from reconstituted veneer, the carpet is woven from recycled materials, and low VOC paint and adhesives were used throughout.

"The dedication of the Washington D.C. showroom is furthering Gunlocke’s success and commitment to the area and the growing Mid-Atlantic market," says Don Wharton, president of Gunlocke. "We wanted to have a space that showcases our products, solutions and also Gunlocke’s capability as a partner to work with the larger corporations and professional service firms within the area."

Gunlocke also has showrooms in Atlanta, Georgia, Boston, Chicago, Dallas, New York, Santa Monica, California, San Francisco, Toronto, and Muscatine, Iowa.
