International Interior Design Association has announced that it will support the Council for Interior Design Accreditation’s major standards-revision project. In so doing, the IIDA will provide a $15,000 grant toward the work. The council will use the money to update standards used to measure interior design education for accreditation, which aims to ensure quality for academic programs.
“Part of IIDA’s strategic mission is to empower the future of design,” explains Pam Light, IIDA’s 2005—2006 president. “Support of the CIDA initiative is essential in creating the baseline standards for professionalism in education for the next generation.” “Standards must be updated regularly,” says Joe Pettipas 2007 chair of CIDA. “The world changes, work changes, and educational preparation for the profession likewise must change to remain relevant.”
We would love your feedback!
