The One of a Kind Show and Sale at New York's Pier 94
Handmade good lovers and holiday shopping slackers unite! The One of a Kind Show and Sale set its sights on New York this year, and the show opened Friday at the city’s Pier 94. The show, produced by Merchandise Mart Properties Inc. and sponsored by Interior Design, was a four-day holiday shopping experience offering unique fine art and fine craft from hundreds of unique artists, artisans, and designers from across the country.

Rogue Confections by interior designer turned chocolatier Sherri Adler. Former set designer for Late Night with Conan O'Brien, Adler decided to remain in New York when the show moved to Los Angeles. The avid baker and confectioner launched her sweet career change earlier this summer.
Patrons skipped the long lines at big box stores and the pre-packaged factory-made products, as the One of a Kind Show was a refreshing alternative to traditional retail and the ideal place to find one-of-a-kind gifts in a wide range of media and categories including painting, sculpture, glass, photography, ceramics, jewelry, wearable art. There was even a special Etsy Artist Pavilion sponsored by Etsy.com offering the site’s best local vendors and a drawing to win an Etsy shopping spree.

Articulate, modern pottery by Sang Joon Park; hand-blown glass accessories and jewelry by Brooklyn-based Deborah Faye Adler.
Visitors were treated to live music, carolers, fashion shows, expert presentations, gourmet cafes, bars, and special events. All items for sale were carefully made by hand and designers are on hand in each booth to carefully tell the story of their wares.
