On April 13 and 14 in La Grange, Georgia, the Council for Interior Design Accreditation’s (CIDA) board of directors will hold its semi-annual board meeting. Hosted by carpet manufacturer Milliken, the board will address the interior design profession, its education, and the role of academic accreditation.
CIDA, formally known as FIDER, is an independent, non-profit, accrediting organization. It sets interior design standards and evaluates degree-granting interior design programs.
"Supporting education is a core value of Milliken Contract so it's only natural that we would strongly support accreditation for interior design programs in colleges and universities,” says Milliken host Kaye Gosline, CMG, Creative Director. “It's vital to gaining the respect and recognition that interior designers deserve for the important role they play in making our built environments safer, healthier, more sustainable and more beautiful.”
Currently, 158 CIDA-accredited programs are offered in the U.S. and Canada.
We would love your feedback!
